China's non-woven fabric industry started late, but it is developing very rapidly. In the early 80s of the 20th century, the output was less than 1 ton. In the mid-to-late 90s of the 20th century, China set off a climax in the development of non-woven products. In addition to using domestic production lines, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan and other provinces have also introduced production lines from abroad. The development rate of China's non-woven fabric products greatly exceeds the average development rate of the textile industry, growing at a rapid rate of 8-10% per year, making it the fastest growing industry in the textile industry. Because China's non-woven fabric industry has moved towards high-gentrification, many enterprises and products have strong competitiveness in the world. Through years of exploration and development, China's non-woven fabric enterprises have embarked on their own characteristic road.

From January to December 2005, China's non-woven fabric manufacturing industry achieved a total industrial output value of 16,458,573 thousand yuan, an increase of 32.82% over the same period of the previous year; the cumulative product sales revenue was 15,607,941 thousand yuan, an increase of 35.93% over the same period last year; the cumulative total profit was 593,992 thousand yuan, an increase of 32.53% over the same period last year.

From January to December 2006, China's non-woven fabric manufacturing industry achieved a total industrial output value of 22,243,945 thousand yuan, an increase of 29.12% over the same period last year; the cumulative product sales revenue was 20,981,288 thousand yuan, an increase of 29.15% over the same period last year; the cumulative total profit was 949,546 thousand yuan, an increase of 60.54% over the same period last year.

From January to November 2007, China's non-woven fabric manufacturing industry achieved a total industrial output value of 26,138,837 thousand yuan, an increase of 30.80% over the same period last year; the cumulative product sales revenue was 23,936,756 thousand yuan, an increase of 26.29% over the same period last year; The cumulative total profit was 1,016,754 thousand yuan, an increase of 22.63% over the same period last year.

Although China's nonwovens industry has developed rapidly, compared with the advanced level of the international nonwovens industry, the overall level of China's nonwovens industry is still relatively backward, and the gap in enterprise organizational structure, scale, process technology level, product types and quality, scientific and technological innovation, and development capabilities is very obvious. Therefore, Chinese non-woven enterprises should find their own positioning, enhance their core competitiveness, and organically combine their advantageous elements, complementary assets and operating mechanisms, as well as technical systems, management systems and technical means, and give full play to the innovative advantages of their unique products.

There are many large-scale projects in China's various constructions, such as the Three Gorges Project, the Xiaolangdi Project, the environmental protection project, the large-scale development of the western region, infrastructure construction, etc., which will greatly promote the consumption of geotextiles, filter materials, waterproof materials, and packaging materials. In addition, the increase in domestic consumer income will also strongly stimulate the consumption of various hygiene absorbent products and air filtration materials, medical and hygiene supplies, and labor insurance and sports supplies. Therefore, China's non-woven fabric industry still has great growth potential in the future.
