The fifth visit of the International Industrial Textile Association to Maqiao Warp Knitting

(Summary description)Jointly seek the development of industrial textiles with local companies

Recently, Stephen Warner (the second on the right), the president of the International Industrial Textile Industry Association (IFAI), visited Zhejiang Haining Warp Knitting Industrial Park for the fifth time. Shen Shunian (the first on the right), the director of the Park Management Committee, accompanied him to visit a number of mall shops. Visited companies such as Hailide and Yuli Plastics, and had discussions with them on the development status and trends of the international industrial textile market.

Shen Shunian said that the park will vigorously develop industrial textiles in the next step, improve supporting industrial chains, and guide industrial textile enterprises to produce complete finished products to meet the needs of international markets such as Europe and the United States. He hopes that with the help of IFAI, he will have more exchanges with American industrial cloth companies and strengthen cooperation in production, education and research with American universities.

Mr. Warner analyzed the current situation and future development trends of the US industrial textile market. He said that although the impact of the financial crisis is diminishing and the global economy is showing signs of recovery, the speed of recovery is still slow, and the employment rate of US textile companies is still falling. However, the employment rate of industrial textile companies has risen instead of falling. The reason is that these companies focus on continuous innovation and have begun to turn their attention to the export market. Under the new situation, industrial textile companies from various countries should strengthen cooperation and jointly develop the global market. Speaking of the future development trend, Mr. Warner said that the application of geosynthetics to the landfill treatment of coal slag and coal ash will increase the demand, and the related market will grow rapidly. Markets such as durable non-woven fabrics, fabrics for the medical industry, environmentally friendly materials, and recyclable products may also see growth trends in the future.

At the symposium, Mr. Warner answered questions raised by some business representatives on the spot, such as the market application of industrial textiles such as advertising tarps in the US market under the current economic situation, and the proportion of demand for various industrial textiles in the future.

Warner said that the spirit of continuous innovation and rapid development of the Haining Warp Knitting Park deeply attracted him. Every time he returned from China, his mind was always full of new ideas. The prospects for the development of industrial textiles in 2011 are better. He hopes that the association can organize a team of buyers to the Haining Warp Knitting Park for more in-depth exchanges and discussions.
